Sport is returning to British Columbia in accordance with the phases outlined in B.C.’s Restart Plan. At the request of the Province of B.C., viaSport has led the creation of a set of guidelines on how to resume sport while operating safely during this pandemic. 

viaSport is hosting a webinar open to all – municipal and recreation leaders, local sport organizations, facility operators, community stakeholders and interested parents on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 1:30 pm.

Jared Kope and Heather Beatty, viaSport Return to Sport leaders will:

  • outline how sport will return to your community in a phased approach during the pandemic
  • provide the step-by-step process provincial and local sport organizations should consider when bringing sport back
  • explain the coordinated approach that must be taken by amateur sport organizations, municipalities, facility operators, and community stakeholders
  • give an overview of the major points in viaSport’s Return to Sport Guidelines
  • Answer your questions

Jared and Heather will also welcome Rebecca Tunnacliffe, CEO, British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association, who will share information on the return to recreation from BCRPA’s The Recreation and Parks Sector Guideline for Restarting Operations and answer your questions.
