Growing up in Kamloops, Mike played recreational hockey and soccer, and was an avid downhill skier. As a parent he has coached hockey and soccer and continues to volunteer in youth hockey in the City. Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from UNBC, a Diploma in Accounting from UBC, and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC. After beginning his career in the forest industry, he transitioned into accounting where he has worked in public practice, and the healthcare and municipal government sectors. He is currently with the City of Kamloops as the Business Manager for Community and Protective Services.
